The first single off Dear Daria's EP, Solastalgia, "On the Inside" explores how lockdown-induced depression made even the most simple and mundane of tasks feel daunting and impossible.

You still have to get out of bed
Brush your teeth
Walk the dog
Don’t forget you need to take your meds

And you still have to do your job
Send emails
Make those calls
Even as you’re holding back the sobs

But on the inside we’re crying, we’re dying
And this is just the start
On the inside we’re fighting, igniting
And it’s tearing us apart

You still need to go to the store
Buy some food
Cook that food
You still need to eat though it’s a chore

You still have to go fetch the mail
Wash your clothes
Clean up the house
Then get to bed so you can do it all again

But on the inside we’re bleeding and we’re needing
To know there’s something more (But is there something more?)
On the inside we’re desperate, no one gets it
And it just goes on and on

On the inside it’s dark here, no spark here
And we’re out here on our own (Always all alone)
On the inside we’re dejected, we’ve rejected
Everything we’ve always known (Everything we’ve known)
On the inside hearts are breaking, souls are aching
And none of it makes sense (I just wish that it made sense)
